Sideshow Toys Brother Hyrion
I just recieved, the Sideshow Toys Brother Hyrion Statue.

I thought it would look good on my Computer desk and hey it's a Dark Angels product hehe.

Well I have to say the sculpt is really nice. The statue is about 4 1/2 inches tall and I think overall they did a pretty good job on it, it was sculpted by Jes Goodwin so how can you go wrong.

However there are a couple things that I didn't like about it. The first is a mistake that is not that big a deal but worth pointing out. On the packaging it gives a little history for Brother Hyrion and it says he is a member of the 2nd Battle Company which would make him Ravenwing. But considering that he is not painted black and doesn't come with a bike that's obviously an error (also on the website it says he is a member of the 3rd company). My biggest gripe though comes from the paint job. it just seems a little sloppy. the website says "This polystone figure stands about 4.5" high and is finely detailed and hand painted to exacting standards." I'm not sure what "exacting standards" means but I don't really get that feeling from the paint job on my Statue. The picture on the website shows really clean line work and no bits of stray paint on the model and unfortunatly the line work on my statue is pretty sloppy with bits of highlight paint all over the place. It's just a tad disapointing. from a distance it doesnt look too bad though.

Overall for the price I guess it's not too bad but from the website I was expecting a little better paint job. Perhaps I'll have to go back in an see if I can repaint it myself.

Below are some photos of the statue and some close ups of the paint job.
